Question 1: Who designed the place?
I did, with help by others.
- The platform is WordPress and the framework Genesis.
- The child theme is one made by an indie developer, who has retired the theme, and customised quite a bit by me.
- The shopping cart portion of the website is called WooCommerce.
Apart from the technical stuff provided by the tech people above, the Nina With Freckles brand identity in its entirety has been designed by myself.
Question 2: What is that font?
All original theme fonts have been changed to suit my brand identity.
- The paragraph text in sans serif is Source Sans Pro.
- The sub-heading slab serif is Yorkten Slab by insigne.
- The handwritten typeface is Gotcha by Nicky Laatz.
Question 3: Is your business legal?
Naturally! My VAT number is FI24463800 and I’m registered via the VAT MOSS system to collect tax from EU residents according to their local VAT, when selling products online. VAT on products sold to Finland as well as services is 24 % for EU residents.
Question 4: How can I contact you with private matters?
Please use my Contact page if my blog or social-media profiles are too public.
Question 5: Do you offer wholesale?
I sell digital versions of my patterns through this website only. If you prefer paper patterns, I haven’t yet looked into having them printed. I’d like to work with you though, so please use my Contact page to get in touch. Fore more on this, read my Wholesale page.
Question 6: How does it work when buying digital NM Patterns?
There are detailed instructions on each product page, when you scroll down a bit. They include how many times you can access the file through its download link, and what software you need to open the file of a pattern or digital paper. Inside each digital pattern intended for paper printing you will find instructions how to print.
The process has been tested by others on multiple device types and internet browsers, so if you run into technical challenges, I encourage you to consult a friend, who can sit next to you when working through the steps, as everything should be all right at my end.
Question 7: Can I get help with using NM Patterns?
You can receive one-on-one coaching in the future, in case you can’t decide on which materials to use in your project, or you need help with figuring out how to use a new technique.
Question 8: How do I find projects made by others in social media?
My hashtag is #nmpatterns so feel free to use it and connect with others creating with my patterns. Plus I’d love to see what you’re up to!
For an individual pattern, I’ll post the unique hashtag both on its corresponding pattern page here on the website, and in social media when introducing it for the first time.
Question 9: May I sell products made with your patterns?
Yes, you’re welcome to sell products made with NM Patterns on a small scale (home sewist and the like.) Large-scale manufacuring is prohibited. Once you’re ready to sell a finished product, I wouldn’t mind being credited as the designer of the pattern :)
Question 10: Can I buy some finished products made by you?
If there are any for sale, they appear in the Shop. Usually there are none, but I’m working on having Nina With Freckles merchandise for your enjoyment in the future.
Question 11: May I use NM Patterns when teaching classes?
Yes, of course! Each student needs to buy their own pattern licence, but I offer group discounts in these situations. Please use my Contact page to get more information on rebate percentages and unique coupon codes to use when checking out from the shop as an individual member of class.
Question 12: We are a quilting bee of 12 people, do NM Patterns suit quilting as a group?
Some patterns work very well as bee quilts, so take a look at the individual pattern pages for clues. As with teaching discounts in question 11, please send me an email for a group rebate and unique coupon code.
Question 13: There’s an error in a pattern, what now?
First of all, I’m sorry about not having caught the error! Second, could you let me know which pattern it is and the error, so I can add a correction to my Pattern Corrections page as well as the pattern page in question? I’d appreciate that, thanks so much! Third, if you enjoy pattern testing, please join my email list to hear news before others and perhaps do some testing of your own.
Question 14: Can I share a pattern I bought?
No, you purchased a personal licence to use a copy of my pattern, but copyright, all rights, remain with me. A licence can be revoked immediately if unlawful behaviour with regard to its use (redistribution etc.) is discovered. Please also recall that this is one of my income streams, and I have food to buy and bills to pay just like anyone else, so thanks for referring your family and friends to my Shop instead, I’d love that!
